Jake appointed CLIC Sargent’s newest Ambassador
"Being the dad of two healthy, happy little children, I count my blessings every day. My wife and I know not every parent can say that."
Jake is a father of two and wants to do more to support families affected by cancer.
He has already supported CLIC Sargent by donning a fancy hairpiece for the charity’s fundraising event Wig Wednesday and attending the Windsor Race night, which this year raised £650,000.
BT Sport also backed the charity, providing two years of funding, worth £100,000, to support Young People’s Community Workers and to give sporting opportunities to young people affected by cancer.
“Childhood cancer is a fight that we must all join. We’ve both been moved to see first-hand the vital difference that CLIC Sargent can make to a family who have been given the worst possible news.
“From huge things, such as a place to stay near their ill child to simple gestures like money to be able to travel to wherever someone’s child is being treated, CLIC Sargent does amazing work, but currently can’t help everyone. I want to help the wonderful people at CLIC Sargent reach even more young people and their families.”
Rachel Kirby-Rider, Director of Fundraising at CLIC Sargent, said: “We are delighted and grateful to have Jake’s support. As a young parent he has an understanding of how devastating it must be when a child is unwell. Jake is a popular and well-loved figure and his and Harriet’s support will help to raise awareness of the crucial work done by CLIC Sargent.”
